The Bogotan Ciclovía goes from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Sundays and holidays on the main roads of the city, interconnected in a 120 kilometer circuit extension, from which some sections are interconnected by bike paths, ensuring its coverage though the entire city.
This space was born in 1974 and after different stages was technified from 1995 when its handling was assumed by the IDRD. Since then and gradually, it has been structured until reaching its current physiognomy and acceptance among its thousands of users. Its infrastructure allows an average of 1.5 million (1,500,000) users to go out safely and practice different types of physical activity.
In order to run its operation we have specialized staff: 231 Ciclovía Guardians, 23 corridor managers and special programs, nine professionals in the Technical and Operational and Administrative Coordination of the program. In turn, 40 drivers, 170 workers, 350 auxiliary bachelors, 500 social servers, 210 vendors and additionally it has the support of the District Department of Health and Traffic Police personnel.
